2026-2027 PTO Executive Board
Get to know the team that will be supporting our KME community this school year!

Kristi Gerard
President
Kristi is mom to a 3rd grader and 1st grader, plus the family's dog, an adorable Chiweenie. She got involved with the PTO when her family was new to the Kings district, hoping to meet other parents and get connected to the school community. What started as a way to get involved quickly turned into lasting friendships, and after serving in several PTO roles, she's excited to help lead another great year at KME.
Kristi says KME is the place to be because... of the tight-knit community! From the staff to the student to their families, they all truly know how to make KME the place to be!
Michelle Kowalski
In School Programs
Michelle and her husband, Steve, have a 1st grader, a busy one-year-old, and a very spoiled Golden Retriever named Remi. She joined the PTO because she loves being part of her son's school experience and making memories while he's still excited to see Mom at school. As a teacher, she also knows the impact a strong partnership between families and schools can have and enjoys supporting the amazing teachers, staff, and KME community.
Michelle says KME is the place to be because... "It truly takes a village to raise great kids, and KME has an incredible village."

Lauren Phillips
Recording Secretary
Lauren and her husband moved to the Kings area in 2019 and have a 4th grader and kindergartener at KME this year. After teaching elementary special education for 16 years, Lauren became a stay-at-home mom and was excited to get involved with the PTO. She knows firsthand how hard teachers work and wants to give back by supporting the incredible staff and students who make KME such a special place.
Lauren says KME is the place to be because... "Of the dedicated, passionate staff members."
Lindsey Wanstrath
Communications Secretary
Lindsey and her husband, Alex, have a 1st grader at KME and a preschooler who can't wait to join the school next year. Lindsey joined the PTO because she loves being part of her kids' school journey and creating lasting memories while helping make KME a fun, welcoming place for all families. She also has a deep appreciation for educators and enjoys finding ways to support the incredible KME staff.
Lindsey says KME is the place to be because... "Of the amazing community of students, staff, and families!"

Megan Souder
Parliamentarian
Megan and her husband, TJ, have been married for 11 years and have two boys, a 3rd grader and 1st grader. After volunteering at PTO events for the past few years, Megan was excited to take on a larger role this year. She enjoys connecting with other KME families and supporting the amazing teachers and staff who make the school so special.
Megan says KME is the place to be because... "We truly have the BEST teachers!"
Kris McMinn
Treasurer
Kris and her husband, Doug, have two children at KME, a 4th grader and a kindergartener. Their family moved to Ohio from Northern Virginia in summer 2025 to be closer to family and is enjoying getting to know the Kings community. Kris joined the PTO to meet other families and help support the educational experience at KME. As Treasurer, she looks forward to providing transparency and thoughtful stewardship of PTO funds while helping make great things happen for students and staff.
Kris says KME is the place to be because... "It’s fun!"

Sarah Davis
Past President
Sarah and her husband, Ryan, have three children: a junior at Kings High School, 7th grader, and 3rd grader. Sarah first got involved with the PTO by attending meetings and helping with a few committees, but quickly discovered how much she enjoyed connecting with families and staff through school events. Over the years, she has helped plan and support many KME events and loves being a resource for the PTO and school community.
Sarah says KME is the place to be because... "Go Knights!"
